Kris/Kristin Kylee Anastacia Rodriguez Cortes
UNCF & HSF Scholar | Clinical Psychology PsyD Student | Professional | Researcher | Advocate
I am dedicated to advancing trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and accessible mental health care for individuals and communities. Currently pursuing my doctorate in Clinical Psychology at Yeshiva University, I am passionate about bridging psychological research, clinical practice, education, and community intervention to drive lasting, systemic change.
Before entering the clinical field, I cultivated a strong foundation in student development and education through roles in college admissions, orientation leadership, and as a teaching assistant. I also worked as a medical assistant and technician, and held positions in psychology research labs, while actively participating in mentorship, campus leadership, global citizenship initiatives, and animal advocacy and welfare programs. In addition, I served as a crisis counselor with Crisis Text Line, providing real-time emotional support and de-escalation to individuals in crisis. I also became part of the first cohort of student campus advocates for the organization, promoting mental health awareness and encouraging peer involvement in crisis support.
I’ve been the recipient of several awards and academic honors, including recognition as a UNCF Fund II Foundation Scholar and admission into multiple honor societies for academic excellence and leadership.
I also founded Counselor Campaign—an international movement dedicated to dismantling the global stigmas and barriers that prevent people from receiving mental health support. Our mission is rooted in equity, inclusion, and global access:
We provide free education, multilingual resources, and peer guidance to individuals seeking support.
The campaign is non-affiliated and equal-opportunity: no background, belief, or identity should limit one’s access to mental health resources.
We aim to bridge language, cultural, and societal barriers by building a diverse network of global advocates committed to mental health equity.
Building on my educational foundation, I first began my career by transitioning into the corporate world to work in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) and Human Resources (HR). In these roles, I:
Developed and delivered inclusive training programs and onboarding initiatives.
Led recruitment efforts with a focus on equitable candidate experiences.
Designed mentorship and internship pipelines that amplified diverse talent.
These experiences deepened my understanding of organizational systems, workforce equity, and scalable impact—tools I bring to my work supporting clinicians and wellness practitioners in building impactful, sustainable practices.
I began my clinical experience at the Child Mind Institute, where I supported over seven clinicians across various departments, primarily within the Anxiety Disorders Center. I co-led the program management for our Selective Mutism Intensive Program, the Brave Buddies Program, and the OCD Intensive Program, gaining hands-on experience in structured behavioral interventions. I also served as a confederate in clinical sessions, playing an integral role in exposure tasks and treatment delivery. This foundation deepened my passion for providing accessible, developmentally attuned care.
Currently, I serve as:
Executive Functioning Coach at InPractice Psychology, supporting individuals with ADHD, anxiety, and performance pressure through personalized coaching.
Director at InPractice Psychology, where I lead strategic initiatives in systems optimization, clinician onboarding, and operational development. I also serve as Intake Coordinator and Communications Specialist, supporting our CEO and clinical team through high-level administrative coordination, client communications, and internal workflow management to ensure a seamless experience for both providers and clients.
Former Director and Current Board Member at The Modern Asian Parent, a community-driven nonprofit dedicated to supporting families through culturally grounded parenting education and intergenerational healing. As Director, I led nonprofit development, community partnerships, digital content strategy, and the early stages of our book and media production. I now continue to support MAP’s mission as a Board Member, helping shape its message and voice to reach families with empathy, evidence, and cultural resonance.
Freelance Clinical Practice Operations Consultant, Writer, & Strategist for private practices and wellness individuals/businesses, specializing in clinical operations, content writing, practice development, and licensures/certifications.
Lastly, over the years, I’ve held many volunteer positions, and I currently dedicate time to local environmental and community mutual aid organizations.
Let’s connect! I welcome and look forward to collaborations and new connections.
